Special Announcement for our CYS Community
Dear members of the Chamberlain’s Youth Services Community,
It is with feelings of both excitement and sadness that I am writing to announce my transition from my position as Executive Director at Chamberlain’s Youth Services to pursue a new direction in the field of human services. I remain endlessly optimistic for the future of Chamberlain’s and committed to supporting this transition through to the end of June 2020.
A transition this year is the right time for me personally and a healthy milestone for the organization itself. I’m fully confident in our board, the professional team we’ve built, and our amazing community of superhero supporters. As I look to the future I take comfort in knowing that I’m leaving the organization in great hands, because none of what we’ve accomplished would have been possible without all of their wonderful energy and talent.
While leadership changes can be challenging, I hope this transition creates excitement for the future of CYS. In the past three and a half years we’ve celebrated some amazing achievements to improve the already high quality services Chamberlain’s has offered for decades. In my time as Executive Director, CYS has completed a merger, shifted our service focus with attainment of STRTP licensure, expanded our mental health clinic, rebranded the organization with a contemporary new look, grew our fundraising revenue significantly, as well as completed major renovations to Chamberlain’s Non-Public School. I have been honored to build upon our relationships with the community and lead the organization through these enhancements.
I’ll be forever grateful for the lessons learned, relationships built, and the opportunity I had to help our region’s most vulnerable kids.
Patrick Ellis, Executive Director
On behalf of the Chamberlain’s Youth Services Board of Directors, I want to express our deep appreciation for the guidance, talent, and energy provided by Patrick Ellis as Chamberlain’s Executive Director for the past three-and-a-half years. Under Patrick’s leadership, Chamberlain’s has made important changes in our programs to keep pace with the changes in State requirements for residential treatment of foster youth. Patrick’s efforts have improved the over-all functioning of Chamberlain’s, which will be beneficial to the next Executive Director.
While we are sad that Patrick will be departing in the not-too-distant future, we are confident that the mission of Chamberlain’s will continue to be carried out by its very dedicated and committed staff.
The Board of Directors has begun a search for the next Executive Director and we are working closely with Patrick and the staff to ensure a smooth transition. We appreciate and welcome your support as we take these next steps.
Please join me, and the entire Board of Directors, in thanking Patrick for his service to CYS and his commitment to the youth we serve. We wish Patrick the very best and happiness in his future endeavors! We know that he will be a success in whatever he undertakes!
Alana Miller, CYS Board President
